Foodways Fridays Featured at Billings Farm & Museum

WOODSTOCK, VERMONT...Billings Farm & Museum, gateway to Vermont's rural heritage, announces a new program designed for children and adults to discover how we use our heirloom garden vegetables in historic recipes prepared in the 1890 Farm House kitchen. Foodways Fridays will be offered each Friday this summer and fall, from July 17 through October 16, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and will feature recipes from the late 19th century.

Visiting families can learn about the history, importance, and uses of old vegetable varieties and watch as they are prepared into seasonal dishes in the farmhouse kitchen. Each Friday will feature a new recipe to take home.
