24th Annual Quilt Exhibition Awards Announced by Billings Farm & Museum

WOODSTOCK, VERMONT.... Billings Farm & Museum announces the results of the Curator's and Jurors' Choice Awards for the 24th Annual Quilt Exhibition open daily through September 26. Susan Hall of Hartland, VT, received the Curator's Choice Award for her quilt, 40 Years and Counting, from Billings Farm & Museum Curator Robert Benz.

The Quilt Exhibition is a juried show; this year Billings Farm & Museum asked each of the three jurors to select the quilt they thought most deserved to be recognized. The results: Colleen O'Neill chose Chelsea Smith's quilt Chelsea's Weathervane; Mary Schilke selected Mara Novak's, Black Bear; and Alexandra Nickerson chose Susan Damone Balch's, Nine Patch Fancy.

The 24th Annual Quilt Exhibition is open daily through September 26 and features the recent work of Windsor County quilters. Admission includes the operating dairy farm, orientation and farm life exhibits, the restored and furnished 1890 Farm House, plus daily programs and activities.

Curator's Choice:

Susan Hall with her quilt 40 Years and Counting won the Curator's Choice Award for 2010.

Jurors Choice:

Chelsea Smith with Juror, Colleen O'Neill.

Mara Novak with her quilt Black Bear was Mary Schilke's Jurors Choice Award.

Bob Benz places award next to Susan Damone Balch quilt Nine Patch Fancy was Alexanadra Nickerson's Jurors Choice Award.
